Pat Zdun - trumpet

Pat’s musical journey began at 3 on piano and accordion and continued on trumpet and concertina.  In school, he participated in band, jazz band, choir and swing choir and was part of Polka Plus with two of his brothers.  Pat toured Europe with the United States Collegiate Wind Band and studied under UWSP trumpet professors Bob Van Nuys and Bob Kase.  Encouraged by local jazz entrepreneur Chris Swansen, he also studied at Boston’s Berklee College of Music. â€‹Back in Wisconsin, Pat graduated from MSOE and is currently the electrical engineer at Consolidated Water and Power in Wisconsin Rapids.  He has played trumpet with UW Marshfield/Wood Co. symphony and jazz band; Royal Brass Quintet; and the instrumental ensembles of Palm Sunday Choir, Central Chamber Chorale, and multiple churches.  Besides HCJ, Pat continues to play with Hub City Winds and Marshfield Civic Band and guests with the Hayes Boys Orchestra and Old Time Brass.  Occasionally, he will entertain his neighbors with his concertina.
